Specialised service

Custom metal
fabrication in Barcelona

We manufacture unique metal parts to your drawing or sample: from the first prototype through to short and medium production runs, with industrial tolerances and tight lead times.

Your part, exactly as you need it

At Talleres ECI we manufacture special metal parts that standard processes cannot solve. If you have a drawing, a sample or a technical idea, our team turns it into a real part with the tolerances, material and finish your application requires.

We operate specialised cutting, forming and welding machinery, and have qualified welders for critical materials and positions. Every part is dimensionally checked before delivery.

This service is especially valued by companies that need a fast first prototype, by industrial maintenance departments that require spare parts without a fabrication drawing, and by engineers who want to move from the design phase to a functional part with a single trusted supplier.

What we can manufacture

  • Sheet metal parts: cutting, bending, deep-drawing
  • Complex welded assemblies
  • Metal frames, chassis and bases
  • Machinery casings and guards
  • Spare parts without a drawing (from sample)
  • Prototypes for functional validation
  • Short and medium production runs (1-500 units)
  • Special parts in stainless steel, carbon steel or aluminium
  • Components for process machinery
  • Modifications and adaptations of existing parts

Materials we work with

Stainless steel

AISI 304, 316L and duplex for food, chemical or high-corrosion applications. Bespoke polishing.

Carbon steel

S235, S275, S355 for structures, frames and high mechanical strength parts.

Aluminium

5000 and 6000 series for lightweight parts, casings and components requiring low density.

Fabrication capabilities

  • Plasma and oxy-fuel cutting
  • CNC bending (press brake up to 3 m)
  • MIG/MAG, TIG and arc welding
  • Orbital welding for stainless steel pipework
  • Rolling and bending of profiles and tubes
  • Drilling, tapping and dimensional fitting
  • Shot blasting and surface preparation
  • Finishes: polishing, pickling, passivation, painting

Custom solution design

In addition to fabricating from a drawing or a sample, we design bespoke solutions when the client has only a technical need to solve. Our technical office works with CATIA and SolidWorks software for 3D modelling of the part or assembly, generating the shop drawings our workshop uses to take it into production.

How the process works

  1. 01

    Receipt of drawing or sample

You send us the drawing (PDF, DWG, STEP) or the physical part to replicate. If there is no drawing, we produce one from the sample.

  2. 02

    Technical review and quotation

We assess feasibility, propose the most suitable material and process, and send a detailed quote.

  3. 03

    Prototype or first unit

We manufacture the first part for dimensional and functional validation by the client before starting the run.

  4. 04

    Production run fabrication

With the part validated, we produce the agreed quantity with dimensional control on each unit or batch.

  5. 05

    Control and finishing

Dimensional verification, surface finish according to specification and preparation for dispatch.

  6. 06

    Delivery with quality documentation

Delivery with material certificate, dimensional control records and a detailed delivery note.

Custom metal fabrication

Yes, this is one of the most common cases in industrial maintenance. We receive the part, measure it, produce the fabrication drawing and reproduce it. If the original part shows wear or deformation, we correct it in the new design to improve its service life.

We have no minimum order quantity. We manufacture from a single part upwards. Setup costs are naturally spread more efficiently over larger runs, but we understand that many industrial applications require single parts or very low volumes.

We work with drawings in PDF, DWG, DXF and 3D formats (STEP, IGES, SolidWorks, CATIA). If you only have a hand sketch, that also works as a starting point to clarify dimensions and requirements.

For sheet metal parts or welded assemblies with no special material requirements, a prototype is usually ready in 5-10 working days from approval of the quote. Parts requiring special material or heat treatment can take 2-4 weeks. We always confirm this in the proposal.

Yes. For breakdowns or production stoppages, we have the capacity to handle urgent orders. The minimum lead time depends on material availability and the complexity of the part, but we can usually offer 24-72 hour turnaround for standard sheet metal parts. Contact us directly.
